Crossed paths (or should I say roads) with the Paul Sartori Pembrokeshire County Car Run 2024 whilst in Solva. Great fun to see the convoy of classic cars.

Red beetle takes flight

July 17 2024

I spent some time following this little red beetle in an attempt to take a photograph of the moment he spread his wings. I wasn’t quick enough. But I did capture a little sequence of him climbing a Butterfly-Bush before taking off.

Samantha’s eye

July 13 2024

I was chatting to Sam about macro photography and we got onto the subject of how interesting eyes were up close. The result of that conversation was this image.

Echeveria at home

June 14 2024

I picked this echeveria from a discount shelf at a plant storeit Mercato Mayfair in London. It wasn’t looking too healthy at the time, lovely to see it flourishing.

Three pictures from on the trail at Pen y Fan in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons). Hannah brought a pair of binoculars with her for birdwatching, I thought they made for a fun photograph.

Same mushroom, different day

OCTOBER 22 - 25 2022

I noticed this mushroom alongside a footpath near my house which I frequent. I thought to document it each time I passed. On the third time it had been eaten by wildlife save for the stalks (if you look closely you’ll see a slug climbing the stalk on the left mushroom).

At night

OCTOBER 7 2022

Night scene with a near full moon, taken from Coity Wallia Common, South Wales.

Patterns in a bubble

February 21 2021

Interesting patterns inside a bubble of dish soap in the rings of a scissors. I find the colours and patterns in oil mixed with water fascinating. To capture this image I set up my camera on a tripod beside my kitchen sink after observing the flat bubble inside the scissors.

Caryatids support the buildings along Montpellier Walk in Cheltenham on a quiet morning before the town awakes – one of my favourite images from when I lived in Cheltenham.
